Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy. A major portion of the Indian population relies on agriculture and related activities to make a living. The Indian government is continually working to enhance the agricultural sector through the implementation of several initiatives, one of which is the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi programme. It is the government's main effort aiming at doubling the income of farmers. It increases agricultural output by stabilising farmers' income and allowing them to adopt high-yielding variety seeds and advanced agricultural technologies. The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi plan, which was implemented in India, is the subject of this research. For this, we acquired secondary data from several Indian government sources as well as the PM-Kisan plan dashboard. Tables and charts were utilised in the study as descriptive statistical tools. According to the conclusions of the study, PM-Kisan is a large-scale initiative that can yield considerable outcomes. The Indian government has taken a positive move to improve the living conditions of farmers. On the other hand, the sum provided to farmers under the PM-Kisan system is insufficient. It is recommended that the sum be sufficient to maintain a reasonable standard of living.
