In the fields of science and engineering, the Double Exposure Holographic Interferometry (DEHI) technology has a wide range of applications. DEHI can be used to detect minute surface changes in an object over short time periods. This can be used to figure out or evaluate some material's physical qualities.
The DEHI technique is utilised in this case to record the hologram of the same object at several times and under various weights. Young's Modulus (Y) of Aluminum, Copper, Iron, Brass, and various steel alloys has been determined using this method. The DEHI-derived Y values are found to be quite close to standard Y values for the metals and alloys studied. The approach is also used to establish a standard relationship between carbon composition and steel alloy Y.
