As a radio station, the heart can emit waves to other hearts and receive waves in various frequencies from the sun and other hearts via its electro-magnetic field. Good emotions such as love, forgiveness, gratitude, and joy help to keep the heart healthy, however negative emotions such as anger, fear, hate, and envy can harm the heart and lead to heart disease. In Islam and Sufism, a pure heart is crucial, as it is required to sense Allah's presence. Bad desires must be eradicated from the heart. All religions contain elements of mysticism. Sufism, as a mystical branch of Islam, exemplifies the heart's linking abilities. The heart has a vital role in Islam, as we can see from the Koran. Philosophy, psychology, and medicine must recognize that the soul resides in the heart, not the brain, and that treatment should be directed toward the heart.
