The goal of this study is to see if upper lip bite examination (ULBT) may be added to a routine airway assessment regimen, along with other tests, to improve the predictive accuracy of difficult endotracheal intubation. The study was a single-center prospective randomised single-blind comparative observational study that took place from July 16 to July 17 at Dr. D Y Patil medical college in Kolhapur. We achieved homogeneity in this study by having the lead investigator conduct all tests and the senior resident do all laryngoscopies to eliminate inter-observer variation. Using gold standard CL grading, we compared the modified Marampati test (MMT) and the ULBT in terms of accuracy, PPV, NPV, specificity, and sensitivity against laryngoscopic visualisation. Because both tests were assessed by the principal investigator, the danger of inter-observer variation was significantly reduced, which is the study's main strength.
