The Influence of Purchasing Strategies on Manufacturing Performance an Empirical Study in Continental Tyre | Chapter 03 | Innovations in Science and Technology Vol. 4

 The goal of this research is to look into the impact of purchasing strategies on manufacturing performance, given that purchasing is such an important part of any business.

Design/Methodology/Approach: A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed, with 110 (73%) of them returning with complete information and being used for statistical analysis, in order to investigate the significant level of the constructed model among manufacturing firms in Malaysia, specifically Continental Tyre.

Findings: The findings show that purchasing methods have a favourable impact on manufacturing performance, which includes cost, quality, cycle time, delivery speed and reliability, new product introduction timelines, and customisation response performance.

Limitations and implications of the research: Manufacturing companies should use purchasing strategies, effective negotiation, collaborative relationships and interactions with suppliers, effective cost management, supply base management, and sourcing management as navigators for their merit performance in today's volatile market conditions.

Originality/Value: The article demonstrates that purchasing strategies are effective techniques for mitigating the influence on manufacturing performance in order to remain competitive in today's competitive and difficult business environment.
