Correction of Cosmetic Problems to a Previous Hair Transplantation with Overly low Hairline Case | Chapter 06 | Issues and Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 3

Reasonably low hairline, unnatural hair flow, poor follicle survival rate, unsightly appearance of plugs, blunted temporal angle, large hairless gap posterior to the low hairline, and lack of consideration for progressive hair loss in younger patients with a family history of androgenetic alopecia are the most common unconvinced results secondary to hairline transplant. Bilateral frontotemporal recession is a common cause of androgenic alopecia. Patients who visit a hair clinic for hair transplantation always request that the specialists focus on restoring the hairline. However, because of their erroneous comparison to their actual face proportion, they frequently request an excessively low hairline. A low hairline can cause facial disproportion, especially when compared to peers of the same age, more hair loss behind the planted new hairline, insufficient hairs on the backside of the head (donor site), and other issues. A skilled hair doctor should try to explain the progression of hair loss to patients who come for hairline correction, advising that they fine-tune an appropriate height to protect the follicle reservoir for future needs. The essay will give a realistic strategy to dealing with these cosmetic issues that have arisen as a result of a previous hairline transplant.
