We created a hearing aid that allows persons with hearing loss to monitor the horizontal movement of a single sound source. The subject is shown the movement of the sound source by vibrating the vibrators on both shoulders in accordance with the distance and direction of the sound source, which are calculated from the acoustic signals detected by microphones in both ears. We showed the subject the direction and distance to the sound source by adjusting the ratio of the two vibrators' strength according to the direction and increasing the intensity as the individual came closer to the sound source. By rotating their face in the direction where the strength of both vibrators was equal, the subject could perceive the approaching sound source as a shift in vibration intensity. When an analogue vibration pattern is added to identify the direction of the sound source, the direction of the sound source may be tracked with an accuracy of less than 5°. It is feasible to show subjects the arrival and departure of a sound source by accurately portraying the direction of the sound source.
