Following footprints and
waiting at specified areas that are recognised as the trail to be crossed or
the eventual destination of cattle theft, known as "Ngendeng," is how
the NTB province's Lombok Tengah regency traces stolen livestock. Ngendeng is
carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the moment the livestock is reported
missing until it is discovered or the possibility to be located is lost. The
problem with Ngendeng's activities is that it puts people's lives in danger if
there is a robbery, as well as causing a drop in health among the Ngendeng
residents. In Ngendeng, an Internet of Things (IoT) device for picture
capturing was created to replace the community's role. The technique is
Research and Development (R&D) in the creation of products and the testing
of their efficacy The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method was used to
track down the location of device deployment in each sub-district. As a
consequence, the most frequently travelled site (high potential) in Lombok
Tengah Regency has been chosen for the implementation of IoT-based picture
capture devices in an effort to reduce livestock theft.
