Energy Security: An Important Factor in Global Perspectives| Chapter 3 | New Trends in Physical Science Research Vol.3

Industrial, food, sociological, environmental, and sustainable development, as well as information, cyber, economic, defence, and national order security, are all encompassed in the concept of a state's national security. A state's degree of security is determined by its capacity to gather resources internally and obtain or maintain access to foreign economic resources. In economic and political talks on energy supply, the term "energy security" is nearly always employed. However, various authors interpret the idea of energy security differently. At the international and national levels, energy security is frequently examined in the context of economic security. The authors propose the following variables to attain and ensure energy security for national and Euro-Atlantic security: There are 25 different ways to achieve energy security, 8 different ways to ensure energy security, and 9 different scenarios to quantify energy security. The final conclusion is that a state's energy security is actually its national security. Because all sectors of a state economy rely on primary energy resources or electricity, a lack of energy supply (primary energy resources or electricity) for final consumers causes societal imbalance, causing severe damage to citizens' safety, industry, the national economy, and thus national security.
