Food is a physiological requirement with significant social and cultural implications. Eating habits have long been regarded as one of the most stable aspects of a person's social background. However, we are living in a period of significant change, with a significant impact on the population's nutritional status, driven, among other things, by new lifestyles and conditions, technological advancements and distribution systems, the emergence of new foods, and new methods of preparation and processing.
The primary goal of
this study is to see if daily food patterns of people changed during the
Coronavirus quarantine. The following objectives have been defined in order to
achieve this goal: Examine food consumption patterns, food consumer typologies,
and food waste. the new target post covid set of customers, evaluate consumer
perceptions of distribution channels, look into grocery shopping online, and
identify venues for selling local food. This research examines the influence of
the COVID-19 health crisis on people's food interests, beliefs, and behaviour.
In addition, an online poll (n = 232 Spaniards) looked into how food purchasing
habits changed throughout the epidemic. The questionnaire was created using the
Google Forms tool and distributed using instant messaging apps like WhatsApp,
social media like Facebook and Twitter, social networking sites like LinkedIn
and ResearchGate, and email through snowball sampling to try to cover the
entire Leon territory and reach the greatest number of people through mobile
phones, tablets, and computers. The SPSS application was used to conduct the
statistical analysis.
