High-efficiency electric motors and controllers allow electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) to provide a clean, reliable, and environmentally friendly transportation system. In electric vehicles, portable rechargeable batteries are a must-have component. To supply enough energy in an EV/HEV system, a large number of cells must be connected in sequence, but the voltage balancing problem between cells causes poor efficiency. Under the MATLAB Simulink setting, this chapter attempts a modular battery charge equalisation circuit, taking into account the battery's state of charge (SOC).
