A specific sort of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is produced in Southern Italy, namely in the countryside of northern Bari in Puglia, from the cultivar "Coratina." It is distinguished by a high level of polyphenols and other biocoumponds, which is the greatest among cultivars.
In the Mediterranean diet, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is a must-have
ingredient. Furthermore, the oil was used to treat a variety of ailments by the
ancient populations of southern Italy, including burns, injuries, hematomas,
dermatitis, and so on. Despite the fact that various studies on EVOO have
demonstrated its amazing effectiveness in wound healing, no scientific research
for the treatment of traumatic ulcers in the oral cavity have been offered.
