Recent Study on Treatment of Glucocorticoid Steroid Resistant Chronic Inflammatory Disease with Moxa Tar | Chapter 2 | Challenges in Disease and Health Research Vol. 7

Glucocorticoids are currently used to treat chronic inflammatory disorders such as asthma, COPD, and rheumatoid arthritis. However, many chronic inflammatory disorders, such as pulmonary fibrosis, atherosclerosis-related diseases, chronic laryngitis, and chronic muscle injury, are immune to glucocorticoids. The therapeutic capacity of glucocorticoid steroids has been exhausted, necessitating the development of new anti-inflammatory drugs or therapies. Moxa (Artemisia Argyi) is a plant that produces anti-inflammatory smoke or tar when burned. Based on some clinical trials and the author's personal observation, the author wants to present a new way (moxa tar) of treating glucocorticoid steroid resistant chronic inflammatory diseases in this article. The aim of this article is to introduce a new area and to draw researchers' attention to it in order to develop new anti-inflammatory drugs or therapies. The researchers used a crossover design in this study, in which patients act as their own controls, comparing clinical symptoms and signs before and after moxa tar treatment.
