The purpose of this study is to look at the wear behaviour of Al-7075 alloys comprised of Mica and Kaolinite. Specimens are made in a temperature range of 800 to 850°C using the stir casting process. Experiments are used to investigate the effect of Mica and Kaolinite reinforcements on the wear characteristics of the composite. Pin-on-disc testing at room temperature and under dry conditions is used to study wear behaviour under a constant load of 40 N. Experiments are carried out with various reinforcement amounts (2 percent , 4 percent , 6 percent and 8 percent ). Increases in the weight percentage of reinforcements were found to predict an increase in wear behaviour. Mica and kaolinite in the matrix increased wear resistance and hence reduced wear loss.
