Scholars and visitors to Egypt frequently presume that all or most aspects of Egyptian culture date back to the Pharaonic period. This idea, however, is incorrect, as Egypt has been occupied by foreign countries over the years, leaving their stamp on the country. The goal of this chapter was to trace modern Egyptian culture's Turkish roots. Data was gathered through historical document analysis, conversations with historians, experts, and other Ministry of Antiquity employees, as well as trips to numerous sites, including iconic structures and other monuments. Turkey heavily affected Egypt in practically every major area of culture, including government organisation, education, courts, medicine, law, and infrastructure. Many of the vocabulary used in Egyptian Arabic today are Turkish in origin. The findings provide a more complete picture of how many facets of this civilisation had Turkish roots.
