Study on Thermodynamic Constant of Time Passage | Chapter 7 | Research Trends and Challenges in Physical Science Vol. 6

 The study of time has a long and illustrious history, and it is still continuing strong today. Because Isaac Newton coined the term "time" in the 17th century, it could not possibly be related to thermodynamics. Newton's concept of time is still popular because it captures the universal human sense of time passing. Only the absoluteness of time, not its uniform passing, was questioned by Gottfried W. Leibniz and Immanuel Kant. Kant firmly related the experience of time to man and his sensuality in his profound musings. In this article, a modern definition of time is presented to support the notion that time is a manifestation of a thermodynamic process that elapses uniformly and at a rate specified by a natural constant. The constant 0.08 [1/year] denotes the natural relationship between the passage of time and the cyclic motion of the planet Earth, and hence with the calendar. Because time passes at a constant rate, the phenomena of changing the pace of time does not occur.
