Selected Coating Properties of Black Alder Wood as a Function of Surface Preparation, Varnish Type, Coating System and Exposure Conditions | Chapter 07 | Recent Trends in Chemical and Material Sciences Vol. 5

 On the market, solid wood furniture maintains its popularity. The key factors used to describe the overall quality of solid wood are reliability, environmental friendliness, appearance, and value. Black alder is one of the light-colored kinds that is chosen. Black alder has the potential to be used in furniture manufacture due to its workability, qualities, and great grain orientation. The coating qualities of black alder are discussed in this chapter as a function of surface preparation, varnish type, coating procedure, and various exposure conditions. The findings of several prior studies given in this study could have practical applications in the furniture sector for generating value-added furniture pieces based on their unique circumstances.
