Preliminary Phytochemical Screening of Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Chloroform Extract | Chapter 4 | Cutting Edge Research in Biology Vol. 7

A alone herbal plant can be collected of thousands of horticultural constituents or secondary metabolites, and the potential for new drug development and finding are becoming increasingly apparent. Initial phytochemical screens were performed utilizing qualitative methods. Phytochemicals are projectiles for weaponry that occur normally in plants. The aim of this study was to judge the presence of various phytochemicals, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, polyphenols, etc., in different extracts of the curative plant Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Our results showed that plant extracts hold various plant components in the way that alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and polyphenols. The study showed that, in further research, phytochemicals in Chrysopogon zizanioides L commit significantly boost various projects of this plant.
