Ceftazidime-induced Antibiomania: A Rare Case Study and Review of Literature | Chapter 5 | Research Highlights in Disease and Health Research Vol. 6

 The aim concerning this article is to climax the importance of understanding the psychiatric side effects of medicines early and formulating direct management options for fear that detrimental belongings on a patient's clinical condition. Antibiomania is a rare somewhat secondary madness caused by antibiotics. We present the representative occurrence of antibiomania in a peritoneal dialysis patient produced by ceftazidime, a cephalosporin antibiotic. Manic symptoms were seen in the patient mentioned attending a few days after offset the antibiotic and diminished over the course of a few weeks of antibiotic situation. In this instance, there is a close equating between the start of antibiotic situation and the emergence of crazy symptoms.  Antibiotics from various classes have existed implicated as the creative agents in a few case reports of antibiomania. Several theories have been projected regarding the underlying method of antibiomania.
