Patterns of Anemia in Geriatric Patients: A Hospital based Observational Study at Tertiary Care Centre in Gujarat, India | Chapter 1 | Research Developments in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 9

 Background: Anemia in someone of advanced years patients is a all-encompassing health question and it can cause more severe confusions than in the younger adults. The aim concerning this study was to study clinico – healing profile, semantic and hematological characteristics of the blood deficiency in geriatric victims.Materials and Methods: This observational study was completed activity at Central laboratory, Department of Pathology, Dhiraj General Hospital, Vadodara. Total of 150 someone of advanced years patients accompanying the various clinical OPDs were contained in the study. Detailed demographical, clinical, hematological and different required dossier were collected and resolved using Microsoft surpass and graphpad software.Results: In our study, in another direction 150, 123 patients were erect to be having anaemia as per the WHO tests of diagnosis of emptiness. The prevalence of lifelessness in our study was 82% with maximum cases in 60-69 age age group. Out of 123 cases, 57(46.3%) were men and 66(53.7%) were females. Fatigue (113) and breathlessness (96) were ultimate frequently stated symptoms. Microcytic hypochromic anemia (61.9%) was ultimate common semantic type. Highest numbers of cases were seen in moderate grade (68).Conclusion: All someone of advanced years patients bear undergo routine routine blood examinations to diagnose the blood deficiency at the earliest. Timely and prompt mediation can prevent the further course of anemia and help in reconstructing the overall quality of growth.
