Ovarian Torsion: Recent Trends in Diagnosis and Management | Chapter 8 | Research Developments in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 7

 Ovarian curl is one of the gynecological causes of severe abdomen in women of almost all age groups. It refers to unfinished or complete rotation of the ovarian accompanying or without the engrossment of adnexa. As it may cause after ischemia and misfortune of ovarian and/or tubal function, expeditious disease and management are the solutions to obviating the complications and maintaining ovarian function. Diagnostic Laparoscopy with detorsion remnants the management of choice. Oophorectomy needs offensive wherever possible. Oophoropexy should be thought-out to prevent future revival. In this review, the focus is laid on the demonstrative approach in these cases to expedite the administration and a literature review on effects after the protection of a necrotic ovary and oophoropexy was initiated.
