Pharmacosomes: A Vesicular Drug Delivery System | Chapter 6 | Current Overview on Pharmaceutical Science Vol. 5

In current years, the use of vesicles as a one who carries or transmits something system has enhance the alternative choice in drug delivery. They were found expected useful in sheet biology, demonstrative techniques, immunology, and again in genetic engineering. Vesicular drug delivery plan includes liposomes, aquasomes, enzymosomes, ethosomes, transferosomes, niosomes, pharmacosomes, phytosomes etc. Among of these pharmacosomes have supplementary benefits like high entanglement efficiency, no misfortune or leakage of drug and stability. Pharmacosomes endure as micellar forms or ultrafine vesicular or hexagonal aggregates. Pharmacosomes can transfer both hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs. Researchers have able pharmacosomes for various cardiovascular drugs, antihyperlipidimics, diuretics, and medicines. This review describes about composition, system of preparation, description and applications of pharmacosomes.
