Annotated Checklists of Lethrinid Fishes from Thoothukudi Coast, Tamil Nadu, India | Chapter 3 | Newest Updates in Agriculture and Veterinary Science Vol. 3

 The Gulf of Mannar and wadge bank has well organised the chase trend for Major Perches. In Tamil Nadu, Thoothukudi was thought-out as important angling region accompanying a coast length of 163.5 km which falls on some Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve. Lethrinus fish class contributes about 34% among the bigger perches landed in Thoothukudi coast. Lethrind group fishes are famous as Pigface Breams or Emperor Fishes. They belongs to the suborder Percoidei, which holding many families whose relation are understood poorly. This tabulation will provide baseline dossier for the further research on lethrinid fishery the study specifies the species arrived from the ecosystem established fishing gear, harbor centre and seasonal incident.
