This case report is an attempt to educate professionals about the fact that not all tracheo-bronchial masses are cancerous. Amyloidosis is a disease in which particular proteins are overexpressed, resulting in the extracellular deposition of insoluble beta pleated sheets of fibres. The target organ's function is disrupted by these deposits.
Its cause is yet
unknown. Primary Amyloidosis of the Trachea and Bronchus is a rather uncommon
condition. In the tracheo-bronchial tree, it causes a tumor-like lesion. We
will discuss a patient who was referred to a tertiary care centre for
persistent hoarseness of voice in order to rule out cancer.
