COVID-19 and the Rise of Crime in Developing Countries, Using Nigeria as a Case Study| Chapter 9 | Research Developments in Arts and Social Studies Vol.2

The fact that the world ground to a standstill for approximately a year and that we are now operating in a new normal is not news. On this subject, a significant quantity of research has been done. There has been significant debate over how the outbreak impacted more than just state economies and health care. As a result of the virus and the international community's response, there was a significant increase in crime rates and sexual violence in many countries around the world. This article looks at how crime has increased in Nigeria and how it has affected the country, especially during a pandemic. The case study method is used in this study to investigate the rise in crime and how it occurred during a pandemic.
