The Indonesian government has used a Strategic Management method since 1998, according to Government Regulation No. 108/200, however it has not analysed the strategy's efficacy. President Yudhoyono's administration, on the other hand, adopted a new approach called Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah (RPJMD) - Medium Term Development Planning – in 2009. The government's compliance with this strategic plan is an intriguing subject. Is the strategic strategy being implemented, to put it another way? Both writers examine their experiences attempting to implement the Strategic Management paradigm and practise in the Indonesian public sector, with a focus on process and tools, in this study. In this historical and descriptive study, the casual loop model of the system dynamics technique was applied. The government's strategic planning model, according to the report, was a linear process model linked to essential success criteria like leadership, professional coordination among governmental entities, and monitoring of the entire process and its instruments: planning, implementation, and assessment.
