The study's main purpose was to see if there was a link between test anxiety and academic accomplishment among undergraduate students. At MLR Institute of Technology in Hyderabad, TS, India, 414 students were picked at random from five departments of Freshman Engineering. The data was collected using the Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI), which was created and modified by Spielberger. Pearson correlation, multivariate English, and regression analysis were used to analyse the data. It was revealed that test anxiety levels and student performance scores had a substantial negative association. The data revealed that cognitive variables are more important than effective factors in causing test anxiety. As a result, it is discovered that test anxiety is one of the key variables that contribute to students' underachievement and poor performance, but that it can be addressed by intensive training of individual students in relation to the elements that cause test anxiety. The professors and administration of departments should also adequately inform students on the nature of courses, the duration of the semester, and the degree of commitment required for successful completion of the course. In order to improve their academic progress, students with increased test anxiety must be recognised and treated.
