Image Retrieval Using Locality Preserving Projections: A Recent Study| Chapter 8 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol.7

In web surfing, image retrieval methods are crucial. There are numerous algorithms available, but each has its own set of drawbacks and low retrieval rates. This paper presents a new image retrieval approach known as locality preserving projections (LPPs). The LPP approach has the advantage of being a linear technique that keeps the picture space's local information. Because it extracts hyper parameters for classification using principal component analysis, nearest neighbour, and eigen features, the method has a greater retrieval rate. The method's performance is evaluated using multiple classifiers, including Decision Tree, and the algorithm is tested using the Yale facial picture dataset.
