Rabindranath Tagore started painting in his sixties, while he was in his sixties. Despite this, he created thousands of pieces and was the first Indian artist to have his work exhibited in Europe, Russia, and the United States in 1930. His painting technique was distinctive, with basic powerful forms and a rhythmic aspect, and it influenced many contemporary Indian artists. Landscapes, animal figures, and human features were all painted by Tagore. In his artistic works, human features are a recurring theme. This motif demonstrates his insatiable curiosity about human personalities. In his paintings, he made the faces into a mask or a hieratic sign of a social type. His faces are diverse in look and socioeconomic status, and they encompass a huge range of human experience inside their own lineaments.
