Pleomorphic Adenoma of Orbital Ectopic Lacrimal Gland Associated with Swollen Optic Disc: A Case Report | Chapter 12 | Current Practice in Medical Science Vol. 1

The most frequent benign lacrimal gland epithelial neoplasia is pleomorphic adenoma. The recommended course of therapy is a full surgical excision with capsule. An incomplete excision might lead to cancerous change. In order to successfully treat an orbital mass, the pleomorphic adenoma of the ectopic lacrimal should be evaluated as a differential diagnosis. This case study features a 63-year-old woman who has an ectopic lacrimal gland pleomorphic adenoma in the superomedial region of the orbit. Through an anterior orbitotomy, the tumour was completely surgically excised together with its capsule.
