In this case report, we discussed the multimodal imaging postoperative results and described the anatomic and functional outcomes of a middle-aged male patient who underwent gas-vitrectomy for the displacement of a submacular haemorrhage. This chapter, which is an expanded version of a previously published work, comprises a case study of a 34-year-old male who had a stone injury to his right eye. He was found to have a significant paramacular retinal rupture and a submacular haemorrhage from trauma. Three days after the accident, the patient had a non-tPA gas-vitrectomy. Six months after the incident, a multimodal evaluation was carried out, which included the best-corrected visual acuity, spectral-domain optical coherent tomography (SD-OCT), 10-2 and 30-2 chromatic automated central campimetry, microperimetry, and mfERG tests. An aberrant foveal SD-OCT pattern with a tear at the level of the retinal pigment epithelium was seen in the results of the multimodal imaging tests. Low retinal sensitivity was seen by campimetry, and abnormal retinal responses and decreased N1- and P1-wave amplitudes were seen by microperimetry and mfERG. Potential reactions elicited by the image were typical. A satisfactory anatomical prognosis was obtained with proper care of the pneumatic displacement of a sizable submacular haemorrhage and the full release of vitreoretinal tension at the tear level. At six months, a multidisciplinary assessment found a structurally and functionally dysfunctional macula.
