An Approach of Neural Network Model for IMC Based PI Controller for a Nonlinear pH Process | Chapter 8 | Challenges and Advances in Chemical Science Vol. 2

pH management is one of the most difficult difficulties in the process sector because of the very considerable nonlinearities in the system's behaviour. In the literature, several approaches to pH control have been presented. This research proposes regulating pH using an internal model controller for a pH process based on a neural network model. Modeling the pH process is considered a difficult task since it necessitates knowledge of the components and their nature in the process stream in order to replicate its dynamics. This research proposes and applies a neural network model based on the first principle equation of nonlinear pH to successfully manage the pH process using IMC-based PI.
