Study about Highly Accurate Positioning Solution for C-V2X Systems | Chapter 4 | Research Developments in Science and Technology Vol. 8

The purpose of this publication is to investigate the positioning needs, develop a knowledge of the C-V2X system's positioning framework, and propose particular technologies in accordance with the requirements and surroundings. With cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) as the foundation, cars may connect with one another and everything around them, enabling safe, dependable, and efficient transportation services. Identifying the vehicle's absolute and relative locations in respect to other objects, such as buildings, people, traffic signs, and other automobiles, is a crucial part of C-V2X positioning. The possibility of Highly Accurate placement for the C-V2X system will be thoroughly examined in this publication. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for C-V2X positioning will be discussed at the beginning of this publication. Then, positioning issues and traditional C-V2X positioning techniques including GNSS, cellular, and sensors will be examined. Following that, UE-based/UE-assisted C-V2X positioning designs will be suggested, along with a number of crucial positioning technologies such sidelink positioning, data fusion, and synchronisation. The last step will include some testing and common application examples.
