The purpose of this study was to assess the amount of patriotism among young people in Zambia and explore if voting is the sole means by which they may express it. One of the most significant results was that kids could describe patriotism, even when it seemed exaggerated. Voting is just one way among many to show one's patriotism; it is not the only one. An emotional commitment to a nation was the definition of patriotism. The principles that give birth to a nation should serve as the basis for patriotism. Based on the research, this chapter recommends that the Ministry of Education work with the government to instil nationalistic values in schools starting in kindergarten. Civil society groups in Zambia should create youth-focused activities to promote patriotism.
