The use of the software packages ARC MAP and Crisis to conduct preliminary evaluations of potential nuclear power plant (NPP) sites in Nigeria that are free from seismic shock and associated earthquake hazard reveals that there may be some similarities between the outcomes produced by the two programmes. As a consequence, it is recommended that the two methods can be applied together to produce high-quality outcomes and occasionally independently when working under extremely difficult constraints. Taking into account the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) emphasis on the examination of seismic hazards and the evaluation of suitable sites for nuclear power plantsKeeping in mind that not all regions of the earth are naturally seismogenic; some aren't, while others are mildly to severely so. In this research, a different method for performing a probabilistic seismic hazard analysis using ARC-MAP GIS software for an aseismic and moderately seismic region is proposed.
