Study about Rules for the Haptic Control of Locomotion | Chapter 01 | Research Developments in Science and Technology Vol. 1

Perceptual psychology proposed that information about the world and the self both influenced action. The data has now been described in detail. What about the command and control? We claimed in this essay that locomotion was governed by rules. They aren't, however, rules enforced by a government. The laws are derived from the human-environment system, not from a brain.

The goal of this work is to show that when skin and joint sensations occur simultaneously, the rule is not that they are blended or fused, but that the receptors unite in one system to register one type of invariant stimulus information. The ground reaction force (GRF) vector line is quite close to the knee instantaneous axis, according to the rule (KIA). It aligns the knee joint with the GRF, resulting in torque-free reaction forces. The reaction to the GRF will then be carried by the entire body's structures.
