Study about Multicriteria Evaluation and Geographic Information Systems | Chapter 03 | Current Advances in Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences Vol. 3

The optimal strategy for "Location of the integral waste processing centre for the metropolitan area in the city of Rosario" is proposed in this paper. Multi criteria evaluation, which can be defined as a set of procedures aimed at assisting in the decision-making process, would be used to accomplish this.

The criteria are one of the most important aspects of the Multi Criteria Evaluation, as their accurate selection will determine whether the generated evaluation succeeds or fails.

It is based on the creation and use of two mathematical decision-support models: the ELECTRE method and the Analytical Hierarchical Processes (AHP) method.
