Due
to time and financial restrictions, ambulatory proctological surgery is
becoming more common. Ambulatory proctological surgery as a novel and
cost-effective method is the subject of our study. The first ambulatory
anorectal surgery was conducted at the University of California, Los Angeles,
in 1962, and it has advanced since then. The study included 30 patients who
underwent elective anorectal procedures with posterior perineal block at the
KLES hospital in Belgaum between the years of 2004 and 2007. November 2004 and
November 2005, respectively. In less than half an hour after surgery, all of
the patients in the posterior perineal block group were ambulatory,
demonstrating that ambulatory proctological surgery is a revolutionary approach
in today's practise. Following surgery, the majority of patients experienced
just minimal discomfort. Urinary retention occurred following surgery in 16.7%
of patients, however it was statistically insignificant. 86.67 percent of
patients in the posterior perineal area recovered within 24 hours of surgery.
The block group was released. Ambulatory proctological surgery, particularly
under posterior perineal block, is recommended as a unique technique of
practise, according to our findings, because there is less post-operative pain
and patients are discharged sooner, cutting expenses and making healthcare more
cheap.
