Effect of Different Pre and Post Emergences & Cultural Practice on Nutrient Uptake by Chickpea & Weed and Yield of Chickpea | Chapter 1 | Cutting-edge Research in Agricultural Sciences Vol. 12

During the winter season of 2010-2011, a field experiment was undertaken at the farm of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, to assess the influence of herbicides and cultural practises on chickpea and weed nutrient uptake. With three replications and ten different treatments, the experiment was set up in a randomised block design. Treatment (T10) 2H at 15 and 30 DAS + HW at 40 DAS was shown to have the highest nutrient uptake by chickpea, followed by T8, T4, T9, and T5. Treatment T10 had the lowest nutrient uptake, followed by T8, which could be attributed to the lowest weed count. In terms of yield treatment, Pendimethaline 1 kg ha-1+1H at 40 DAS (T8) produced the maximum yield. However, the 2H at 15 and 40 DAS + HW at 30 DAS cultural weed control treatment yielded the maximum grain yield and B:C ratio.
