Modern information management systems are sophisticated systems that use network technology and real-time operations to integrate territorial and functionally dispersed complexes. When constructing and developing such systems, the importance of their conceptual design develops. Because of the large number of factors employed and the incompleteness of the data, specific system design approaches and frameworks are required. The book is based on national standard 34 and covers the concept of modern information management system architecture as well as the major stages of system design. It is offered an approach for developing complicated real-time management (information) systems. The methodology is built on top of ontological models of knowledge about the problem domain. The proposed CoDeCS technique is accompanied by a series of self-contained tool programmes for tackling practical engineering issues.
