Oral Submucous Fibrosis – An Ayurvedic Perspective | Chapter 7 | New Advances in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 6

 Oral Submucus Fibrosis (OSMF) is a pre-diseased condition for approximately 2% of the cases, leading to a meaningful deterioration in the Quality of Life, and food. The symptoms of OSMF include pain, blazing sensation, intolerance to pungent food, taste disorders, dry mouth, discounted opening of backtalk, dysphagia, altered tone and depreciated mobility of the tongue. Ayurveda refers to any similar illnesses as Tridoshaj Mukhapaka and advises several remedy modalities, including local cures such as Gandusha and systemic one such as consumption of Rasayana, Tridoshaghna herbs and herbals, in addition to Nidana Parivarjana / abstinence from addictions.
