Trapezium Fracture: An Overview of Percutaneous Fixation | Chapter 2 | New Advances in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 6

 Trapezoidal fractures happen due to high strength trauma and is usually guide other carpal fractures. Isolated Trapezoidal fracture is a exceptional diagnosis which can bring about long term symptoms if misplaced. Usual pattern is a vertical fracture type. Displaced Trapezoidal fractures maybe treated by either open or closed method using k-wire or Herbert pressure fixation. Good functional effect has been reported following in position or time surgical fixation in spite of radiological signs of arthritis. High doubt and clinical knowledge is necessary to prevent missing these injuries and in forbiding complications.
