Assessment and Control of Rock Massifs State for Sustainability of Natural and Man-Caused Slopes and Underground Structures under Influence of Contemporary Seismic and Tectonic Processes | Chapter 2 | Novel Perspectives of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences Vol. 8

The item discusses issues concern the unique formation and momentary changes in the stress-strain state of rock massifs as objects of active human impact from manufacturing facilities, both surface and subsurface, hydrotechnical and line construction, excavating operations, including the happening of mineral deposits by open-cut and secret methods. Arrays of rock formations have a wide range of features that manifest themselves as hazardous unrefined geological events, and too under any mechanics influences to them, containing the method of blasting devastation. The peculiarities of the conduct of such arrays consist in the blend of the characteristics of stable as elastic and plastic crowd, including fragile, and viscous-flowing carcasses, and creep. In agreements of the object's stability and safety in addition to the necessity for supplementary material expenses to maintain the balance in the new conditions, mechanics impact on the rock bulk might have unintended and hazardous implications. The labeling of the potential area of permissible deformations and the environments for the destruction of aforementioned an array of rocks, taking into account the time determinant, is of practical interest for selecting productive parametersof mining science that allow the stop of dangerous undesirable results of destruction. In extents where tangible experiments in the traditional view are challenging, to a degree in underground excavating facilities, processes of destruction, and excavating of minerals utilizing blasting technologies, mathematical methods of shaping mining-geological objects and processes of some complexity accompanying the use of modern technical and operating system tools offer new freedom in solving technological questions.
