The present study aims to question the prevalence of risk factors for hypertension with women in land distant from settled area of South India. Due to an increase in longevity and the prevalence of risk determinants like obesity, inaction, and poor food, hypertension should a widespread fitness issue across the world.A community located cross-sectional study was attended among 837 women picked from rural area of Andhra Pradesh from January to June 2008.Out of 837 women,22.58 % were hypertensive.The age distinguishing prevalence of hypertension was maximum(50.44%) in the group of same status > 60 yrs.Risk factors such as offspring h/o HTN,h/o DM,tobacco use, midriff circumference and BMI were significantly guide hypertension.Problem of hypertension is increasing between rural women so well-being education strategies bear be directed towards country women also. In city area IEC ventures for prevention and control of hypertension has been begun but has not reached the land distant from settled area, so health education plannings should be mean towards rural women.
