Study on the Impact of Breastfeeding to Cognitive Functions in 5 Years Old Children| Chapter 9 | Current Overview on Science and Technology Research Vol. 9

 Two groups of five-old age-old offsprings born in the stained Karvina district and the control commune of eské Budejovice were researched to determine the effect of breastfeeding on intelligent development. The adolescents were born in the age 2013 and 2014. From mothers' surveys, news about nursing was assembled. Psychological and cognitive estimates were conducted utilizing the Raven Colored Progressive Matrices (RCPM) and the Bender Visual Motor Gestalt Test (BG test). Mothers engaged in the study provided us accompanying information concerning social atmosphere of the family, breastfeeding and consuming habits, and child´s record of what happened. The findings indicate a beneficial impact of breastfeeding for six months or more interminable on cognitive development in five-period-old youth. When compared to the judgments of the RCPM exam, that measures problem-solving talents, this effect was more significant in the BG test results, that focused on optic-motor abilities.
