Assessment of Power Quality Performance Using Change Detection and DFT | Chapter 13 | Advanced Aspects of Engineering Research Vol. 11

Power Quality (PQ) concerns in the electrical power distribution network must be investigated without interruption, which has become a major issue for customers at all levels. Electrical and electronic equipment must be able to assess PQ disturbances in order to maintain accurate output. This paper describes a new method for detecting and classifying PQ disturbances that is computationally simple. The voltage slope detection method detects the presence of a disturbance in a sinusoidal signal, and the Discrete Fourier Transform defines the sort of disturbance (DFT).
