Postcolonial Concerns of Africans in “The Gentlemen of the Jungle” | Chapter 1 | Current Approaches in Science and Technology Research Vol. 6

 After Africans achieved independence from their former colonial masters, one major question arose: 'What is the new identity?' Most Africans are currently confronted with numerous instances of cultural clash as a result of being overly exposed to the colonizer's way of life. The majority of Africans' identities are gradually eroding as Westernization spreads. This paper uses Jomo Kenyatta's short story "The Gentlemen of the Jungle" to examine the main theme, postcolonialism, from four sub-perspectives: alienation and exclusion, exclusion and alienation, exclusion and exclusion, and exclusion and exclusion. Retributive justice, the colonizer's language as a tool of dominance, a double standard, and power abuse The importance of this paper is to aid in the formation of new identities in African communities following the abolition of colonialism and European imperialism. The paper is divided into four sections: introduction, method, themes, and conclusion.
