The net nothing transition is a speedily emerging process of mechanics change that now faces friendly, economic and governmental transformations to authorize this rapid transition. The Edgar Allan Poe novella, Descent into the Maelstrom, is used to show that jumping off killing-as-usual transport onto barrels is the only habit to survive. Suggested barrels for net nothing professional practice are new net zero flags reflected in new processes and rules for business bookkeeping, energy, city and transport planning, in addition to new approaches for the just transition and Indigenous/local engagement. Australian models are provided to show the origin of such a agitation process to illustrate the importance of this schedule and emerging new professional practice.
