In vitro Culture's Function in Plant Breeding | Chapter 7 | Advanced Research in Biological Science Vol. 4

In vitro breeding is a method for growing plant parts in a reserved and sterile atmosphere. In vitro culture plays an important function in plant breeding. Embryo rescue, protoplast breeding, somatic combination, anther or microspore cultures for the production of haploid plants, growing genetic variety with somaclonal variation and metamorphosis induction, genetic revolution, and genome editing are models of in vitro culture methods that can be developed for plant training. This method maybe used to produce plants with high yields and fortitude to biotic and abiotic stresses.
