Transitional Justice in Chilean Post-Dictatorship Film and Fiction: An Approach to Amnesty Not Amnesia | Chapter 10 | Research Aspects in Arts and Social Studies Vol. 7

The Chilean Truth and Reconciliation Commission was a compromise resolution as it was mindful of the immense pain borne apiece victims and their families in addition to the unrest generated by the prosecution of military rulers of Argentina in the 1980s. This chapter presents the conflict between two histories: the dominant, political history what of the victims; the former difficult to deny the misconducts and the latter asserting the incident of brutal exhibitions of power. This chapter reliable to conceptualize thought and trauma while grounding frightening testimony as long as of dictatorship in the collective thought so that individual casualties might still continue to feel a sense of owned by the collectivity.
